Services to be provided by Joined-up- Holiday

There will be a daily programme of supervised activities tailored to the individual needs of our guests. Personal care and medication will be provided by fully trained and qualified staff as specified in visitors initial assessment. 24 hour supervision if required, all meals, drinks and snacks, all bed linen and towels will be provided and daily cleaning/housekeeping tasks will be undertaken by staff. Special dietary, religious and cultural needs will be catered for.

All visitors will be assessed before their arrival to ensure that the centre can accommodate their individual needs. See the Holiday Application Form for details. Individual arrangements will be made and documented in the visitor’s assessment to ensure their health and well-being; these will include arrangements for each guest’s privacy and personal dignity. Daily records will be kept and risk assessments completed where necessary. Trained and qualified staff will report to the Health and Safety Officer daily.

Organisational structure;

Joined-Up Holidays has a board of eight trustees and will employ a  registered manager, responsible person/acting manager, senior staff, junior staff, ancillary staff and visiting trainers. Staffing ratios will be decided according to the quests needs but can be 2:1, 1:1, 1:2 and should never be more than 1:3.  All staff will have relevant qualifications and have completed their induction programme within their first 6 weeks of employment. There will be an ongoing staff training programme with level 2 NVQ as a minimum goal for all staff. Also there will be an individual training programme for all staff with at least 6 supervision sessions per year, per member of staff with annual assessments, complaints procedure (for staff and quests) and a whistle blowing policy.

A description of the holiday centre’s underlying ethos and philosophy is included in the centre’s mission statement.

Visitors and staff will not be discriminated against on grounds of ethnicity, gender, culture or religion.

The centre will have a policy of non-restraint unless the safety of the visitor or staff is endangered. The centre will have an open door policy so that visitors may leave at any time. The centre will have clearly displayed rules to ensure the safety of visitors and staff, any person breaking these rules will be asked to leave. Any child wishing to leave the centre will be advised to wait for their parents/carers to collect them. If the child leaves before their responsible adult arrives, the staff will follow at a safe distance unless the visitor’s safety is compromised. Additional services i.e. Police will be advised as necessary.

Fire regulations will be clearly displayed, staff will be trained in the fire procedure, all visitors will be advised of the fire drill procedure on arrival, and regular fire drills will take place at least once a month. There are smoke and heat alarms throughout the building, fire bells, smoke alarms and emergency lighting will be tested as often as required. See the fire policy for further details.

Arrangements to counter bullying and for child protection will include CRB checks for staff, 24 hour supervision if required, trained and qualified staff, individual assessments of visitors to highlight needs/issues which may arise during their stay, a zero tolerance policy towards bullying and violence and daily monitoring of visitors activities and behaviour.

The holiday centre will accept children and adults according to designated weeks of the year and the visitor’s needs. Either sex will be accepted up to a maximum of 6 visitors. Separate self contained accommodation for families will be built at the centre at a later date.  It is our intention to attract visitors with special needs, disabilities, characteristic and behavioural difficulties.

We hope that each visitor will take from their visit to Joined-Up Holidays as much, or as little information, as they are ready to accept and that they will have their own unique, fun and enjoyable experience.
