Joined-Up Holidays has a governing board of eight trustees including the Chairman, Vice Chair, Treasurer and Secretary and will appoint a general manager, full and part time care staff, housekeeping staff, animal care assistants and volunteers. All the trustees, staff  and volunteers will have an enhanced CRB check. Joined-Up Holidays considers training and education to be a vital part of the experience for everyone connected with our holiday and respite centre.

All the staff will be encouraged to update and improve their skills throughout their career with Joined-Up Holidays, and we will never have less than 2 staff working at any one time, usually 3 or more when necessary. The Manager and /or responsible person will be fully qualified in care and support i.e. NVQ level 4 or higher or equivalent. The other members of staff will be qualified to NVQ level 2/3 or will be working towards these qualifications but they will not work unsupervised. 

Joined-Up Holidays will use an independent training provider, who has links to our local colleges and can train our staff at their place of work and assess them during this process. The training provider will then leave the staff further written work to complete before their next visit, they will also provide support for the trainees by email and telephone as often as it is required. The training providers do not set absolute time limits on the completion of the qualifications but guidelines are set, for example it would be expected that a trainee could complete an NVQ level 2 or 3 in 9 months to a year. We will also offer ASDAN qualifications and work experience opportunities to appropriate persons who will be fully supervised at all times. 

Joined-Up Holidays will have a target of all staff either being fully qualified for the level of responsibility they are working at, or being in training to achieve this. Government targets for staff training are 50% of all staff to be either fully trained or in training but our target is 100%.
